Angry until the end

      It's Rock and Roll Thursday

except there is no Rock and Roll today. Last Thursday Rick left his phone behind and Jon had to bring him back here to retrieve it. Jon wasn't happy because he had to get up the next morning at 3 am for some reason. Now Jon's probably pissed off and Rick has lost his ride. It's not my problem, although I do appreciate Jon for bringing Rick here and taking him home. This is a thing with some musicians. They either have never learned to drive, or have lost the ability or resources to own a vehicle. Rick falls into the latter category. He said he was getting a new car but since he got laid off from his day job, he doesn't have the money to buy one.

Gary is another cat who doesn't drive, but for different reasons. If find myself  being a cab driver for these fellows it's no fun for me at all.  It sounds mean, but I can afford a car, so I expect people to at least be able to get here under their own steam. I'm not asking much. All you have to do is show up and maybe bring an instrument. There's no lugging of amps or drums. Rick set up his kit permanently here, so all he has to do is arrive. He doesn't even have to go out and play in front of people. I multi track record and videotape everything and post it to Youtube, so if the algorithm is right, everyone in the fucking world has access to it. Go to Youtube today, I've posted some of last week's efforts. Currently 9 views, but that's about as many people who would show up in some flea bitten venue that we would probably be playing in. I'd be happy to play somewhere, but where? All the boomer crowd wants is cover bands, it's quite hopeless being obscure.

I found a very depressing website http://www.sydneytributebands.com.au/ You can scroll through pages of tribute acts. There's a pandemic of them.

It's all tiresome, but I don't care today. I'd rather have a break from playing this week. Both of my arms have muscle strain because of some of exercise with weights that I've been doing . Combined with playing guitar, which I don't approach lightly or without enthusiasm, it is causing me some discomfort.  Enough of that. If it's one thing I dislike it's people whining about their ailments and I'm doing it!!!

The news sucks of course. Yesterday we heard that Angry Anderson the diminutive singer of Aussie band Rose Tattoo, had gone on to the great gig in the sky. He was 79, he wasn't a spring chicken after all. It's kind of disturbing seeing all these people who you listened to in times gone by, start kicking the bucket. Let's not forget Mick Jagger is 80 something, so age is no reason to stop. I never really listed to the Tatts, rather I endured them.

Johnny Farnham ain't lookin' too great either. Last weekend there was tribute concert for him in Melbourne featuring the creme de la crap of Australian musical talent. It was like he'd already died already. My only recollection of Farnham is of him standing on a table at a Don Lane show afterparty one night, (I think Kiss were there too)  yelling out, "will somebody please fuck me?".  I don't know if anyone took him up on the offer or not.

One thing we know is that "The Voice" will never be heard live again unless a miracle happens. As for Angry Anderson, I can't say that I was ever a fan of Rose Tattoo. I found them to be unpleasant to look at and listen to. A friend of mine dragged me to a to see a Rose Tattoo cover band in Sydney once. It was an unspeakable racket, and I doubt much different from the real thing.

I don't like cover bands much, although "tribute" bands are the worst. In Claremont, New Hampshire there is a tribute act every weekend. I know this because I see the advertising for them every time I visit the Post Office. Last week it was Elvis and Bon Jovi. Bon Jovi are about as appealing to me as Rose Tattoo are ie, not at all. Jovi are in the same category as Bruce Springsteen, Green Day, Neil Young and every other communist/leftwing/progressive zombie entertainer collective.

They all shilled for the fake vaccine during the fake pandemic and they all hate America. Fuck 'em and the notes they rode in on.

Good Day

I couldn't for the life of me find a Rose Tattoo tribute band but I did find this abomination. (endorsed by Bon Jovi...fuck me, they simply have no shame)
