Taylor Swift & Snoop Dork - same species

It's a dark and gloomy day.

It's still as humid AF. Maybe this is El Nino or something. It's annoying whatever it is. Like the person who puts their dog shit in my garbage bin. Stop doing that. I don't have a dog, I don't want a dog and I don't want to have to touch your stinking dog crap. What do these clowns think happens to it after you've placed it in my bin? It magically gets thrown out with the trash? No, it stays on the bottom of the bin, where I have to deal with it.

Yes, these aren't the world's greatest problems but it's something that people should be able to understand. Dog owners are nothing if not fucking stupid, so there's that aspect.

On the weekend wanna be president of the United States, Alexandria Occaisonal Cortex gave a speech at some mutt university. The crowd was singing a pro Palestinian song.  I don't think much of Alexs' chances in US politics if she keeps that up. She needs to understand how things work first. Let's just say money talks and leave it at that.

Every year MTV, that collapsing remnant of of the overblown music industry holds an awards show. This year wasn't much better than any previous years, probably worse, although I've never watched one of them.  Madonna was dressed like a prostitute, but what else is new? That's her thing after all. Taylor Swift got some award handed to her by the show's host, Snoop Dork. Taylor Swift is essentially the same species, so the show was just bros handing out glittering baubles to other bros.

I don't wanna talk about it. Was that the name of a Rod Stewart song?. Yes, it was! That's good because I read in the NY Post this morning that Rotten Rocker Rod has announced his retirement. " Rock legend Sir Rod Stewart has announced he’s retiring after more than sixty years on stage. The 81-year-old Da Ya Think I’m Sexy? singer will finish his career with one final tour beginning at Dublin’s 3Arena next year.

“After more than six decades, The Final Encore will most definitely be my last" he said.  Again, not the greatest fan of Rod am I, but I'll give him credit for longevity. I doubt it will be the last tour however. I'd even put money on it. Rod will probably expire before he finally hangs up the mic for good.

The good news here today is that the rain has stopped. The humidity outside is 99%. That's crazy. Everything is damp. I was trying to print out some documents yesterday and the paper was almost waterlogged. I'm exaggerating but it wasn't printing too good either. Every second page had ink smeared on it.

I guess I'll have to talk to Jon today, to see if he really wants to stop playing bass. If that is gonna happen I might do a session or two with Patrick, Scott and Gary. It's not good to stay in a rut with your music. Look at any band from the last century who is still performing. Do you think anyone would come to see them if they didn't play their hits? Artists like Madonna are desperately trying to turn back the clock to give the illusion that it's still 1984.

Madonna will be 70 years old in two years time, now there's a sobering thought. She needs to go the Dolly Parton route, and I don't mean drop dead. Madge should stop trying to look like she's 25, and embrace, I don't know... a mid thirties look. It would be more dignified and easier on the eyes for a start.

Good Day

The MTV awards would be vastly improved with some snake handling music. (check out the dude with the blow torch at the 9 minute mark)
