Where I live is solidly Blue. Presumably this sticker covers all the people who couldn't be bothered to learn English but somehow decided they should vote.
It was a no heat October and it's a lot warmer today and tomorrow, but the boiler is now turned on for the duration of winter which hasn't officially started yet. I did go and vote this morning. It was very easy. The polling place is in my street. I've been hearing all this talk about Blue Waves and such, but nobody knows until all the votes have been counted.
Over at the UK's BBC, they're obsessed with our election. It's interesting that whenever the poms have an election, nobody from this country really cares. Over there, it's wall to wall coverage of the US, and yet they still seem to disparage us. I don't get it at all. I wish they'd kindly leave us alone. Ditto for Australia.
I've got to re-cement the front porch. The ice and snow last year wrecked the whole thing, so the tiles are gone and I can't find anyone to repair them. I'm doing what is the only option. Concrete and cement. It's better than nothing. When you have an old house in an historic district it's a happy hunting ground for tradesmen. They have any amount of jobs they can pick and choose from, so they're going to go for the low hanging fruit, which is endless.
It's so boring but I'm not moving any time soon. There's nowhere to go. Maybe if the global warming magically becomes real, it will be less of a nasty winter and things won't break. We can only hope.
In three weeks the music summit here will take place. It looks like Gary on bass, Patrick, drums, Alan and Randy on guitar, maybe Scott, keyboards, although I haven't heard back from him. It's not a large room so It might be a bit of a squeeze. If Scott can't come we'll have three guitar players, at which point I might play keyboards instead. I want to record a couple of new songs so it's not just the material that everyone (almost) knows.
I've got to take the Jazzmaster for a tuneup to the guy over the river. It would be nice to have everything working properly. It always happens that the keyboards are recorded too hot. I'm always having to tweak stuff after the event which isn't easy and almost impossible.
There's a lot of preparation involved in these sessions, so I'd better start doing that than sitting here writing this journal that a chosen few read.
Good Day.
