Sherbert – Whose fucking brilliant idea was this? The expressions say it all. The very definition of awkward.
Daryl Braithwaite (who started out as the lead singer of pop icons Sherbert) has decided to stop performing. In an Instagram post on Tuesday he said “I would like to share this news with you all.
After much thought and consideration,I have made the difficult and sad decision to step back from performing live gigs.
For some time now it has been increasingly physically challenging for me to sing comfortably and as a result it has taken the joy out of performing, which has always been so important to me.” Oh no, how will we survive?

I’m kidding of course. I don’t have anything against Dazza, but I suspect this might be temporary. My advice would be to get some vocal therapy/singing lessons and lower the keys of some of your songs. Trying to perform the material that you sang in your 20’s and 30’s with the vocal cords of a person who is 50 years older is always going to be a challenge, unless you’re Frankie Valli but then he’s miming innit?

Look at old Stephen Cummings. He’s had a stroke, can’t walk properly, can’t sing properly, yet still he goes on stage and gives it his all. The governcunt should really make him a spokes mouth for the disabled lobby. It’s a huge industry down there. Apparently 4 million Aussies have some kind of disability.
Years ago it used to be that if you got on sickness benefits you had it made. Now look where we are. Stephen would be great however, he just needs a new jingle. “I feel even better now that the NDIS is paying my bills, upgrades and travel expenses for my army of support workers.” I’m sure the vast majority of people on these benefits are legitimately eligible but if you think there’s no fraud going on, there’s a little place called Minnesota USA, you should maybe look at.

I’m not as old as Dazza but even I, me… one of the greatest vocalists of all time, struggle to sing the same way I did decades ago. I was trying to re record this song the other day called Being and Nothingness. I wrote it during the “Go Wild” days in the 80’s. I cannot get the high notes at the moment and maybe never will. I think if I sang these tunes all the time maybe I could. I’m just singing it in a lower register now, it sounds ok. You do what you have to.

I’m going to get Gary to play bass on some of these re recorded tracks and some new ones as well. It’s time to release a new album that very few people will listen to. Welcome to my world.
As I write this there’s another one of those “Rain Birds” making noise on the window ledge. It will probably be raining later. Get lost bird!
Good Day
