On the weekend there was the annual art show in my town. People wandered about the streets with a map of various locations where the art was. It was all over the place. This city has a lot of very old buildings, some of them in not very good shape. The place was a model city up until the late sixties when everything changed after the civil rights movement. The demographics dramatically changed and a lot of the people who had built the place fled to somewhere else.

As this magnificent city started to rot from within and slowly decay, the government decided that it would be better to knock a lot of it down. They called it urban renewal. In fact it was urban destruction. If you want to get an idea of what that is like, look no further than Gaza today. Entire blocks of beautiful Victorian buliding were razed to the ground and anything of value was stolen to be sold off elsewhere. In the place of what was once a bustling waterfront they built soulless modern structures, and futher up on the hill overlooking the Hudson River, ugly affordable housing was constructed.

It was worthy of Stalinist Russia indeed. You can be poor and live in a communist style shit box but have a million dollar river view. It’s a win for everybody. Then the slum landlords moved in, and cemented in the poverty and misery. Crime was off the charts, aided and abetted by corrupt cops who encouraged the people who were by now trapped there, to participate in things like numbers rackets. I know this for a fact because my now deceased plumber, a very old black dude, told me that he was a part of it.

They say this place in in the midst of a comeback. Maybe. The art show has been going for some years now, and the old houses are being renovated. The new demographic are progressive types who live in an eternal state of hopefulness that things will eventually turn around, there will be no more poverty, crime, or car break ins.
This is why when we have an art show here, somebody decides to make a statement such as the one at the top of the page. The statement itself doesn’t make any sense at all. Nobody ever suggests that humans are illegal. What people say is that people coming into our country illegally are illegal aliens. It’s a perfectly acceptable term for what it is. If you’ve come into our country illegally you have no respect for our laws.
You shouldn’t be here, period. Progressives who love open borders and apparently no laws, don’t understand these simple concepts. They are mentally retarded, and that’s the most accurate description I can come up with. I’m sure whoever crocheted this signage had good intentions, but it’s not helping anyone. It’s fucking thoughtless and stupid.

I think everyone would like to limit, if not stop completely, illegal “immigration”. There are plenty of ways to legally migrate to the United States. What part of illegal do these people not understand? It’s not even immigration at this point. The left likes to pervert the meaning of words to further their demented agenda. It’s an invasion, and it won’t end well.
