it’s Friday. After yesterday’s band practice I couldn’t find any video of Rick on the drums. I’m sure his camera was locked and loaded but there’s nothing at all. I hate that, but I have group shots of him so it’s not a total loss. I listened back to the multi track yesterday and the the guitar is out of tune for most of the second half. I was apparently having so much fun that I didn’t notice. The fun continues on today, and the weekend is almost here. Gary tells me that Curly’s Bar has reopened down where he lives. A car ran through the front window last year, (right where he would have been sitting!) but now it’s all fixed up. I haven’t been there yet, not in a hurry to go. I’ve decided I don’t like eating out much any more.

The food is always expensive and I don’t feel great afterwards. Too much salt, seed oil, I don’t know. I’d rather eat my own home-cooked food to be honest. Earlier on in the week I made some vegetable curry and some fish curry. I’ve been eating that since Tuesday (not continually) it’s been great. If you go to the Indian grocery and get the frozen naan bread you may as well be sitting in a dusty street in Afghanistan at 5.30 am on a cold morning. I just need the flowing robes, sandals and a beard. It’s delicious.

There’s not much happening on the weekend. I probably won’t go out. I’ve got everything I need. Food and drink and unlimited projects that require hours of attention. This room is still a mess after I dragged all the VHS tapes out of the cupboard in order to see what was on them. I’ve digitized a lot of it, but now I want to upgrade the video with Ai. It’s useful for that although it does add little artifacts here and there which I noticed when I remastered the Slaughtermen Rock Arena tape. You don’t really see them until you look closely, but they’re there alright. The eyes are a bit off and the faces, while clearer, have an uncanny weirdness about them.

“Bro, I’m eatin’ breakfast with Robbie right now. I’ll be over later.”
Everything is good. I need to write some more songs. Here’s one from a while ago. The band plays it all the time. “I lost my song, but I don’t know where to find it. This pen just ran out and now I can’t even write one. It’s a beautiful day, and summer (winter) is almost over. I’ve got a slight headache and I’ve got a pain in my shoulder. But my girlfriend is young, she’s 27 years old, she’s got a great body that you just wanna hold!”
Happy Friday.
