I was out

this morning. Walking across the Aldi parking lot it felt like a blizzard was approaching. Indeed it will go below freezing tomorrow night. Will summer ever come?

Now on to the “news”. “Over in the UK, Pepsi said on Sunday that it was withdrawing its sponsorship of the three-day Wireless Festival in London this summer, which is being headlined by Ye, the rapper formerly known as Kanye West. Ye’s participation at the festival was part of an effort by the artist to distance himself from a half-decade of antisemitic and racist controversies.”

For those of you who don’t know, the Wireless Festival will be held in Finsbury Park London on the 10 -12 July. If you take a trip to their website it appears that Pepsi is the major sponsor of this event. Somebody is upset about this so the whole thing will probably get canned.

On their “News” page all you’ll find is more Ye stuff. It looks to me like it’s Ye and Ye alone playing at this festival. If you check the lineup page what do you get? Ye with Ye, plus Ye and also starring Ye, with special guest Ye. Did Ye organize the whole thing himself?

Breaking News. There’s nobody else playing here, and the sponsor has quit. What now?

According to Wikipedia the “Wireless Festival is an annual rap and hip-hop music festival that takes place in London, England, which is owned and managed by Live Nation. Debuting in 2005, the festival’s earlier years primarily featured rock and pop artists; since the 2010s, the focus has shifted largely towards hip-hop and other genres; for example, urban contemporary music..” Oh I see, so nothing of value will be lost if this thing falls over. For the record I don’t like Rap “music”. It’s not music for a start. It’s essentially bad poetry recited my mostly illiterate individuals over a monotonous beat. Humans can do better.

There are some interesting comments on the shithole known as Reddit but they make it impossible to copy them

Anyhoo, I don’t care. Someone should tell the people at the festivus that it’s all over now. My illustrious band had a rehearsal on Thursday. I’m posting some of it below. I think they’ll be back tomorrow, we’ll see. Other than that nothing of import has happened here. I did manage to fix my P95 keyboard to the point where it worked sufficiently to my satisfaction. The onboard speakers still aren’t making a sound, but the headphone jack is now delivering a signal that I can use for recording. I don’t need to hear the crappy onboard speakers anyway, so I’m calling this a major success.

The political/news scene is too depressing to talk about here. Everyone knows what’s going on, or they should. The week has only just begun. I can wait to hear what the very expensive space tourists are up to this week.

Good Day
