Yesterday

I tried to buy an air conditioner. It was a mistake. It’s going to get very hot in the next couple of days, so of course every man and their dog was online trying to get one delivered before it got to 90 degrees which is what is predicted for today. I logged on to the Home Depot web site. They had the one I wanted but I couldn’t log into my account. “Technical problems” was the message on the screen. OK, fine, I can check out as a guest. I finally got to the checkout page and put in my credit card info. “We can’t process your payment”

Ok, I tried this a few times and finally called customer service who placed the order for me. We get to the payment part and the nice patient lady tells me the payment didn’t go through. “You need to call your bank and get them to take it off hold.” That of course wasn’t the problem, but I wasn’t about to tell her that. In her world it probably happens all the time, but this wasn’t my bank blocking me, it Home Depot’s lousy ordering system which fell over because it was probably overloaded with people desperate to buy A/C units.

Later on that evening I thought I’d try again. I had three minutes to place my order and I would get it delivered by Wednesday. With luck it all went through, no credit card problems, and I managed to hit the “place order” button with about 2 seconds to spare. Great! I had a receipt and a tracking number. I had successfully bought an air conditioner and it had only taken me about three hours in total of my non refundable lifetime.

You can bet I took the brief survey. It wasn’t a positive review

Later that night I received an email from the Home Depot. “Your order has been cancelled.” Sorry. “We’re working to get your refund issued as quickly as possible. If you didn’t initiate the order cancellation, we apologize for the inconvenience. We may be experiencing inventory issues, so please visit the Home Depot website or place your order again.” Place my order again??? I may never place another order with these idiots ever again. If it’s out of stock (which it probably is) I can’t order another one can I? Fuck the Home Depot for wasting my time.

Walmart executives doing the morning inspection

This morning I thought I’d try Walmart. I did have an account and you can’t buy anything without an account which is monumentally stupid in and of itself. I put in my email address to log into my account. “This account has been suspended”.

Because I hadn’t used it for a while, Wally World had deactivated it. I can’t create a new account because the email associated with it has been suspended. Even if I use a different email address it wants a phone number which is associated with a suspended account. Walmart is effectively treating its customers like recidivist criminals at this point. I’m trying to buy something from your fucking store, and this is what I get? The email that they sent me doesn’t tell me how to unsuspend my account either. Guess what it says? “To keep your account active, log in to it.”

You see a lot of bananas in that outfit.

Well since it’s been deactivated I fucking can’t log into it can I? You fucking beyond stupid morons. I hope you go out of business as a result. By the time I had created another account with a different name and a different phone number the air conditioner I had put in my cart was (guess what?) sold out. Thanks for nothing, you useless wastes of space.

Good Day

A song written in 2018 that predicted things that were to come. Only 74 views? What a disgrace.
