Yesterday I spent about an hour trying to get this nitwit at Xfinity’s customer service to change my plan. I had been paying $45 a month for the last year and now it has gone up to $85 a month.
What am I getting extra? Nothing. I told them I would like a better price and so this idiot was trying to get me to navigate the Xfinity website to change the plan manually. (a kind of a backdoor way according to him) Of course this didn’t work at all, and so I eventually after more than an hour of this horse shit, I gave up and agreed to a $55 a month plan for less bandwidth. That was his intention after all. I don’t use this service much at all, since I’m not there all the time. It’s mostly for security cameras so I can check in in the depths of winter while I’m not there.
Trying to get these cretins on the phone is a challenge in and of itself because there is no number you can call anywhere on their stinking website. You have to do an internet search to find some kind soul has posted a number where you can call them. It’s borderline criminal how they operate their business. Well Brian, your customer service stinks. I give it – 0 out 10. You need to do better. A person shouldn’t have to sit on the phone for an hour or more trying to negotiate a better rate with an Indian scammer whose job is just to waste your time.

Also from Wikipedia.. “Xfinity went from US$23.7 billion in revenue in 2007 to $50.04 billion in 2016. That was 10 years ago. It’s probably worth far more than that now. Wikipedia hasn’t updated that figure for 2026. I wonder why?
After I had signed the contract online, I got an email from these idiots saying that my plan was now 300 mpbs for $80 a month. This is 200 mbps less than what I was getting before I negotiated the new rate. Try as I might to check what my plan actually was, I was continually unable to look at it because the website wouldn’t load. There was a phone number to call on that page and after calling it I was assailed with a barrage of advertising about medical devices. I yelled at the person down the line, but then realized I was talking to a robot.
At this point I’ll just cancel the whole thing. Unbelievable shitty customer service. The absolute FUCKING worst. There aren’t words to describe how egregious these people are. Avoid at all costs. Unfortunately at the moment they have somewhat of a monopoly, but when an alternative appears I will cancel immediately.
What a nightmare…. it’s Tuesday July 8 and the weather has unseasonably cooled down. I’m sure the Global Warming people will be on the media telling us that Global Cooling is now a threat to humanity, after all anything remotely unseasonable is proof positive these days that Man Made Global Cooling and/or Warming is real, right?
