this morning. The digging has stopped. I don’t know for how long, but I’m enjoying the silence. I think we’re in a cooling trend now although it will be 85 today by the end of the week it will be about 77. It will make a slight difference but everyone is waiting for fall followed by winter at this point.
It’s been too hot and humid this year. It reminded me of Sydney weather in summer. Disgustingly hot and humid for days on end. Not to worry down there though because they have all their energy needs under control. Everyone is going to be getting their power from batteries. They’ve gone insane for batteries.
Every now and again I get an email from something called “Service NSW”. It’s the public access arm that the government uses to inform people about government programs and it’s where you go to renew your driver’s licence and pay car registration etc. It’s also a propaganda outlet for things like… well, I’ll get to that in minute. This particular Service NSW message started with the heading
“Hello, Free dental care is available for eligible children at most private dentists and all public dental clinics through the Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS).” Ok great, but why is almost every single person in this particular email Asian? (Pics rel)
Out of the eight images on this mail out, four of them feature Asian people exclusively, two have multiple people in them where at least one of them is asian, and the final image is a picture of sheep grazing below some beautiful solar panels, which brings me to the other story.
This is where the sheep come in. The last item on the page had the headline.. “The growing local benefits of NSW’s energy transition Our move to renewable energy is bringing new economic opportunities to regional communities.
This oughta be good I thought, and it didn’t disappoint. If you click on the link “see our energy transition”, it takes you to a website called “NSW Climate and Energy Action” It’s a comprehensive look at how the government is going to ensure clean and cheap energy into the future. The boilerplate (can I use the word boiler here?) message is thus:
“NSW is undergoing the biggest energy shift in a century. Working with communities, industry, and First Nations peoples, we’re modernizing our electricity network, building the infrastructure we need to keep the lights on and put downward pressure on wholesale electricity prices for years to come.
Our shift to renewable-generated power will harness the state’s abundant solar and wind resources to deliver affordable, clean and reliable energy for everyone. We’re getting the job done.
NSW now has enough projects signed up to achieve more than 75% of the minimum 12 gigawatts of renewable energy generation required by 2030, and has contracted enough projects to meet the 2030 and 2034 minimum objectives for long-duration storage.”
Progress looks lovely doesn’t it?
First of all I’m glad that the first nations people are being included. God knows they should know a lot about the sun and the weather. It goes on ..A range of entities and stakeholders are working together to deliver NSW’s plan to bring long-term energy affordability and reliability to everyone. Each has a distinct role.
I’ll bet they do. When there’s taxpayer money flowing like water, every grifter is going to want a part of it. I encourage you to visit the website If you’re in Australia no doubt you’ll be happy that your energy bills will be going down, down down in the near future, or at least as soon as they finish smothering the landscape with solar panel and those delightful wind towers.
Do they know that solar only works during the daytime? The wind machines only work when there’s wind, yet filthy, disgusting, aging coal plant coal works 24/7. Are they aware of this? Are they aware of anything at all?
Ah, the two nations working together to solve the energy crisis. The First and the um… Second?
It’s a curious approach indeed, but then again people are so demoralized down there that they’re buying this crap hand over fist. I’ve got nothing against so-called “renewables”, but this quixotic fight against common sense and reality is going to end in ruin.
At least at the end of civilization everyone will have a giant battery in their house. Most solar batteries on the market today will last somewhere between five to 15 years. While that is a significant amount of time, you’ll likely need to replace them within your solar system’s 25 to 30+ year lifespan.
We’ll give you some of someone else’s hard earned money. It’s fine.

Without the government rebates * this wouldn’t work at all. This is how the transition occurs and it’s not because people suddenly love the whole renewables thing. The maniacs running the country have decided that’s what you’ll have whether you like it or not. China needs more coal. Get to it!
