He’s not even president yet,

but according to an opinion piece at the Old York Times, Donald Trump is already starting to fail. “Donald Trump is planting the seeds of his own political demise. The corrupt, incompetent and extremist men and women he’s appointing to many of the most critical posts in his cabinet are direct threats to the well-being of the country, but they’re also political threats to Trump and to his populist allies.” Who wrote this garbage, you might ask?

David French, totally not a polemicist

Well, it’s an opinion columnist by the name of David French, a former lawyer whose interests include “sci-fi, fantasy books or movies and the definitive rankings of Star Wars movies.” From his bio “I’m an opinion writer, but I’m not a polemicist. My goals are to treat opposing arguments fairly, to make sure that my facts are correct, that my analysis is sound, and to be transparent about gaps in my knowledge or limitations in my understanding. I believe in admitting mistakes and telling readers when I change my mind, and why. I think personal and professional transparency is important. If we ask readers to trust us, then they deserve to know us.”

I’m surely going to trust someone who writes such a poor quality piece of crap that it isn’t even worth going beyond the stupid headline. Really? Is that the best you can do? In June this year he was crying about being “cancelled” by his Presbyterian Church after initially being invited to join three other panelists on the topic of “how to be supportive of your pastor and church leaders in a polarized political year.”

Johnny Knox – founded the Church of Scotland. Nice beard.

There were essays published that criticized poor David. One of these was in the Federalist and it said in part “That little ray of sunshine is David French — the Army JAG (in case you didn’t know)-turned-religious liberty litigator-turned-writer whose brain has been so corrupted by Trump derangement that he sold out to The New York Times and The Atlantic, where his columns are indistinguishable from the dishonest drivel of the legacy press’s anti-religious religion reporters. In a phrase, he’s a regular accuser of the brethren.”

John Calvin – tireless polemicist and avid reader of big thick books

That sounds about right. As for the Presbyterian church, the less said about it the better. It came out of Scotland and was was especially influenced by the French theologian John Calvin, who is credited with the development of Reformed theology, and the work of John Knox, a Scottish Catholic Priest who studied with Calvin in Geneva and brought back Reformed teachings to Scotland.  Calvin was originally trained as a humanist lawyer. He broke from the Roman Catholic Church around 1530.

Calvin was a tireless polemicist and apologetic writer who generated much controversy. Controversy schmontroversy. Just because these guys were around hundreds of years ago at the beginning of something it’s like they’re venerated saints. The Presbyterian church never did anything good for me, nor did any church for that matter. Calvin shouldn’t have bothered in my opinion.

Meanwhile Dementia Joe is desperately trying to ignite WW3 on his way out the door. These are not people who are interested in saving the planet.

Have a good day.
