already? It’s been a busy week, and I’ve still got a lot to do. I have to go and pick up my amp from the repair shop, or if it’s not fixed, get a loaner for band practice, recording and rehearsal today. They’ve had it for three weeks now. It’s about time. What’s wrong with society today? In the past that amp would have been fixed in two days tops. Unless they had to completely rebuild it, which they didn’t. It’s a fairly new amp, less than 20 years old. People are still playing amps made in the 70’s. My bass playing friend Gary found a 70’s Bandmaster by the dumpster a few weeks ago. All it needed was a new power cord. It’s for sale at the Guitar Center now for over a thousand bucks.

I think I’m gonna buy a back up amp. The people at the shop where my amp was being fixed, have a room full of vintage guitar amps. There is a very nice Fender Silverface that is probably from the 70’s. I asked them about it. “Oh it’s got no tubes” said the owner. “Some idiot left it here for consignment and forgot to tell me it had no tubes.” “Why don’t you fix it and sell it?” I asked. I didn’t get a definitive answer. Again I have to ask what’s wrong with the world?

Back in crazy world, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau accused Canadian author and psychologist Dr. Jordan Peterson, as well as American media personality Tucker Carlson, of being funded by Russia without providing any evidence to substantiate his claims. Castro’s son, like Netenyahoo in Israel, seem to be remaining in power forever in their respective countries. These are the same guys who rant and rave about Trump being the equivalent of Franco in Spain or.. ahem… Castro in Cuba. It’s laughable.

Castro and a guy that looks a lot like him.
Last night I watched Tucker Carlson’s interview with NY Post journalist Miranda Devine. Miranda has a new book, “The Big Guy: How a President and His Son Sold Out America.” (I would suggest that Joe has never been president of anything, but that’s another matter). I knew about Miranda when she was a journalist in Sydney, and she was good then. She hasn’t changed from being a real journalist at all, unlike the lugen press that passes for news and story gatherers today. The interview is worth watching as is the Danny Jones podcast with neurosurgeon Dr Jack Kruse a little while ago. I have no idea who Danny Jones is other than he’s interviewing this dude.

Rick Rubin (inventor of Hip Hop), Kruse and some other dude.
I don’t watch many podcasts at all. Dr Jack does cover a lot of ground, and you’ll be fascinated with many of the topics he covers. It’s a pretty wild ride, so if you’re sitting around with time to spare this weekend, give it a listen. You may have to do it in smaller chunks though, It’s over four hours long. I found myself forgetting that this guy was a neurosurgeon at times, because he talks like a biker. It could all be complete horse shit, but it’s interesting if true. You will learn a lot of things.. I guarantee it.
Happy Friday.
Dr Jack will blow your mind. (or not)
