It’s a Friday,

I went to Walmart. It’s not my favorite place to shop, but sometimes it’s the only place that has anything I need, like SD cards. I bought two for 9 bucks, a far cry from when they first came out and cost hundreds of dollars. Some things get cheaper and they’re usually tech related. I still don’t know how Faceberg, Gulag and other social media tech platforms make money. I’ve never bought anything that they’ve advertised, yet they are worth billions. I think it’s a gigantic ponzi scheme myself. I’ve got a slight headache, but I’ll get over it.

Band practice is this afternoon. After re arranging everything yesterday, it looks a lot neater. There was a whole lot of black spaghetti on the floor for while. I’ve mostly hidden it now. People who aren’t in bands have no idea how many fucking wires are involved. I have a recording console upstairs from the music room and so I have to feed everything up one story and that means lots of wires.

Then there’s the cables fro the instruments and microphones that go to the “snake” that collects them all together and sends them upstairs. One day I dropped a heavy keyboard on the snakes input box and broke a few of the inputs. They still work but they are floating free in their housing now. I bought a new snake to replace the one I damaged, but it’s such a pain in the butt to re do it all again I haven’t had the will to replace it.

That’s what’s happening today. In the sphere of the news, A SpaceX Starship prototype has failed in space, minutes after launching from Texas, setting back the company’s speedy rocket development efforts in a mission that was expected to debut a key satellite deployment demonstration. This thing was huge, 37 stories tall. The booster, however, did come back so not all was lost. Perhaps Elon should concentrate on that instead of playing video games and talking smack all day on X.

The Supreme Court has just ruled that TIkTok must be sold. The decision, which followed warnings from the Biden administration that the app posed a “grave” national security threat because of its ties to China, will allow the ban to start Sunday. But there are a lot of lingering questions about how the ban would work in practice because there’s no precedent for the US government blocking a major social media platform.

I don’t believe TikTok poses any more grave threat from China than the Biden regime did. I think it’s more that a certain group of people want to shut it down because it allows open criticism of them. We simply can’t have that, now can we?

btw I couldn’t care less either way. I have a Tiktok account, and I’ve used it very little. The problem is the app itself. Just opening it you are assaulted by what looks to me like a vision of purgatory. Just to navigate past that to get to what I might be interested in is something I have zero patience for at all.

Happy Friday.
