It’s almost 10 am

and I’m still not in the Epstein files. Somehow I feel left out because it seems like there’s nobody who isn’t in the Epstein files. I’m joking of course, but it’s a Dog and Pony show at this point. What isn’t anymore? I’m not talking about politics at the moment anyway.

It’s so bloody cold outside, it was snap freeze conditions this morning. IOW you could get frozen solid walking 20 yards from the parking lot to the store. Fortunately I didn’t, but it ain’t good.

We have a lovely ice waterfall here at the Fortress

Yesterday we had a good band rehearsal. We might even think about playiing out in public this year. I was gonna say Spring but maybe that’s a bit ambitious. I don’t care if we never play out, honestly. It would be nice, but it’s not what I crave. I crave some WARM WEATHER! God, it’s been going on for weeks now. It is above freezing, but the wind is what is making it nasty.

Enough about the weather. I had to order a new desktop computer yesterday. Some of my old stuff is not working as it should. It’s time to upgrade. In the past I have built my own desktops from scratch by ordering parts and putting one together. This time I’m just going to buy a refurbished one on EBay. The world is awash with used computer equipment, and it’s all a fraction of the price it originally sold for. I need this one to run software synthesizers, so it doesn’t have to cost a fortune. A repurposed one will do. The old stuff will end up in the landfill or in some back alley in India where they will pick it apart and make kitchen appliances with it or something.

……which becomes an ice rink at the bottom

I’ve been watching some Youtube videos of these guys working on things like discarded LP gas bottles. They cut them down and turn them into portable stoves in India. It’s quite mesmerizing seeing how they do it. India is a land of innovation in terms of recycling. You gotta hand it to ’em. Stuff that is piling up in the landfill here is broken down and turned into a useful item in India. When you’ve got 1.42 billion people, there are a lot of free hands to do productive things.

Just make sure the bottle’s empty before you start welding

Today I’m going over what we recorded yesterday. I have to fix a couple of little bum notes here and there, but overall it sounded pretty good. There will be a video of at least one of the songs. The last thing I posted on Youtube 10 days ago has only gotten 3 views, so maybe I’ll put it out of it’s misery and remove it.

I did get a $50 royalty payment a couple of days ago. It’s a good thing I’m not relying on that for a living. Spotify, in my opinion is one of the biggest artist rip offs in history. The current stock price is $455.05 and the market cap is $93.69 billion. This dwarfs the earlier market cap of $19 billion the last time I looked, which wasn’t too long ago. The 52 week high was $785. It’s insane.

Is anyone whose music is on this platform getting paid any more money? In 2019 on the historical chart that’s available online, the stock price was just under 200 bucks. Today it’s $455. Has the rate that I get paid for my music changed at all? Three guesses. Musicians aren’t screaming about this because most of them are too busy talking politics, which is why I stopped doing it. We’re being robbed here and nobody cares.

Good Day.
