It’s band practice day

I’ve forgotten her name but she’s gorgeous!

today, and it has tired me out. I’m going to keep this short as I have nothing much to say about anything. I’m quite bored with everything today. The band sounded good, great at times even. I wrote a new song last week which I played to Rick and Jon. We’ll see if we can’t work on it in the coming weeks. It might need a keyboard player and a couple of extra singers. I don’t have them at hand right now. Gone are the days when I could summon up a 12 piece band that liked playing Elvis songs.

Two handfuls of whatever you want

I’ve lost count of the amount of bands I’ve started, but there are some that had more longevity than others. This one has been going for about 5 years on and off, but we’ve only played one show outside of the Fortress. It wasn’t an experience I’d like to repeat. Waiting around for some arsehole band to finish their set is annoying and I don’t wanna do that anymore.

Demoralized people in the back row …..”If only you knew how bad things really are…

There’s so much petty bullshit involved when you’re dealing with “rival” musicians sometimes. People in tribute bands are the fucking worst. They’ve basically stolen someone’s act, and now are parasitically making a living from it. Thousands will line up to listen to this slop and have no cognitive discrimination between the real thing and the ersatz version. By their very existence tribute bands are awful no matter how good they sound.

If they hadn’t mixed me up with that other woman I wouldn’t be alive now. It’s an outrage.

Having said that, I’m thinking of adding a few covers to my band’s repertoire just to make it more interesting for me, even. I have written probably hundreds of songs. I should check the APRA website to find out how many are registered, not that I’m getting anything for my efforts at all. I don’t know why I bother. The short answer is that I like doing it. I hope to have some video from today before the end of the week.

Good Day
