July 26. The year’s half over. It will be fucking winter soon. Yesterday’s band practice was cancelled because the bass player called in sick. Said he might have “covid”. I can’t argue with this. Told him “get better”. He’s a good bass player and a nice guy, so I’m not going into it. For myself, I feel fine. Thanks for asking. I’m not gonna talk about politics today. I saw something somewhere yesterday about a Heavy Metal music festival called The Eternal Hate Fest. To be precise it is a Black Metal festival, not that I can discern between black, white lite, grey, gay or any other variant of metal.

She looks like a sweet girl as long as there are no sharp objects around
Well, maybe I’d notice if it was gay metal, but then the whole heavy metal genre seems totally gay to me. I don’t get it, but then I like a different kind of music. Heavy Metal , most of the time seems like a racket. Like Rap, it doesn’t do much for my senses. I can listen to one song, and then it all starts to sound the same. I would consider them equally unappealing. I do understand the appeal however. You get to dress up, act like a badass, wear black eye liner, drink beer, hang out with your buddies and meet girls who hopefully are into that kind of thing. Bondage gear, dark colored cosmetics, fishnet stockings, etc etc.. that’s mostly the guys.

No
Whenever I watch metal bands on Youtube they crack me up. Do they realize that they’re all doing the same schtick? It’s like the Renaissance Fair/meets the Halloween House every day with these cats, god bless ’em. The Eternal Hate Fest was started in the Czech Republic by Daniel Beherit Bílý. The first Eternal Hate Fest (EHF) which was held in 1998 in Starec u Kdyně, lasted for two days, and 32 bands played there. “It was a real nightmare, Daniel said, and I still don’t understand how it went so well.”

Probably would, right in the armpit.
He went on to say, “I have absolutely no ambition or need to push it to a professional level: overpaying bands, inviting mainstream stars, holding the festival for many days, and eventually charging lesser-known bands to play there. Even the vendors who sell CDs and LPs here don’t pay for anything. I’m fine with a one-day event, since I do everything myself, so it’s easy to manage.”
The festival only invites politically incorrect bands, whatever that means in Czechoslovakia. I don’t think there’s an official description of what the rules are. It could be different things in different countries. There is an article about the festival here if you’re interested in reading more. I’ve c/p’d some of it to this page.
I decided to watch videos of a couple of the bands. They made me lol quite a bit. I’m going to post one of them below. In fact I’ll post them both. I can’t decide which one is the funniest, but I’m leaning towards the dudes in the robes….What’s with the sword play at the start? It would only be slightly gayer if he was waving his dick around instead of a sword.
Happy Friday.
and…..after this performance the boys had to report back to their jobs as parking ushers at the Renaissance Fair
