and the residents of the Middle East still can’t seem to get along with one another. I’m wondering why I should care about any of this. In George Washington’s farewell address to the nation he said, “The great rule of conduct for us in regard to foreign nations is in extending our commercial relations, to have with them as little political connection as possible.” He said a lot more, but essentially warned against getting involved in other countries political problems, which would include wars. I still don’t know why American politicians are hell-bent on throwing money at other people’s wars. Actually I think I know, but I’ll let you figure it out for yourself. Where do their loyalties lie? That’s the first question we need answered.
It’s a simple meme, but I think a lot of people all around the world who are not involved in any of this, also don’t want to be involved in it. All day long we hear about the “cost of living crisis”, yet it’s not so bad that western countries can keep sending billions of dollars in aid to these places so they can keep killing other people. It’s insane. I’m not on any side here. I simply don’t care what happens in the Middle East or Ukraine. I have no interest in it at all. I’m not the only one, I’m certain. Nobody ever gets asked if they want to send billions of dollars of their hard earned money to fight wars in other countries. Politicians on both side want to throw this cash away. The only difference is that one side wants to throw more of it than the other.
There are thousands of people in every western country now living in tent cities. Why the fuck are we giving money to Israel and Ukraine? It’s not like there is a real solution in either of these places. Ukraine can’t possibly win this war, and the Middle East hasn’t had a peaceful moment since history began it would seem. It’s pretty dumb to keep throwing money at something, getting the same results every time and expecting something new.

Last night the media was awash with WW3 and Israel attacking Iran. This morning it’s all a big nothing. It’s always a big nothing unless you pay attention to the details. People are being murdered and displaced, and we’re sending our money so that it can continue. It’s immoral, criminal, and it’s not right. No matter what the current excuse is, it could have all been prevented. I don’t want today’s journal to be such a bummer, but really I’ve had enough of this bullshit. Let other countries fight their fucking wars. These are not my flags, and not my countries. Why are we subsidizing other people’s misery, and who really runs the country? It doesn’t appear that it’s Americans with American interests as their goal.
In other news, my old team from the town where my family lived for generations, Footscray finally won a match and thoroughly beat St Kilda this week. Fuck yeah. The assholes who changed the team name also changed the theme song to “Sons of the West”. You can still enjoy the original below.
