just avoided burning the crap out of my coffee. You see if I fail to turn off the steaming button when I turn the thing off after I’ve used it, it starts up too hot. I did that a couple of days ago and had to start over. The espresso machine has two levels of heat, and if you start it too hot it burns the coffee. I realize that this isn’t the breaking news that some people have come to expect on this page, but I don’t wanna talk about politics any more.
I especially don’t wanna talk about Australian politics. It’s none of my business. I don’t live there. I haven’t lived there for 25 years. I haven’t been there since 2019. It has very little to do with me. After what’s been happening there recently, I’m even less interested.

Trump is in Davos and that’s the focus of the news today, but I’m not talking about that either. It was very cold this morning. 11 degrees when I got up. It’s now a balmy 35. I went to the supermarket to get some coffee and some other stuff. The trouble is that I find things that I wasn’t looking for. The other thing I noticed was in both of the two places I went, someone had parked their car outside with the motor running. There wasn’t anyone sitting in either vehicle. They were empty.
I am fairly sure these were black people because of the kind of music that was blaring very loud from both of them. Why do they do this? It can’t be so that they can find their car, because one of them was parked in the fire zone right outside the front door. It’s curious, and a new winter phenomenon as far as I’m concerned.

Other than that I have nothing to report. I realized yesterday that I needed to change the Far Out get together to a different date after Sharkey the drummer texted this message, “Well, unfortunately I see a problem depending on what time it will be because the 14th is Valentine’s Day and I have a woman who expects to be taken out for dinner on that day.” I guess I’m just not a romantic, or I just don’t have a woman who expects to be taken out for dinner. Either way it had to be changed so I made it for the following weekend.

I still haven’t managed to move most of the stuff that is now cluttering up this room. If I could build another story onto this house that would be helpful. There is an attic but it’s too small for anyone other than a midget to stand up in. It wouldn’t take much to raise the ceiling I would bet, but than I’d have to go to the stinking council for a building permit which I am loathe to do.
The last time I wanted to build a small fence out the front I had to front up to some fakakta council meeting and sit through all manner of bullshit so they could graciously charge me $100 for the priviledge of erecting a fucking small fence at the front of my house. Fuck that.
Good Day
