Monday July 15

I’m not gonna talk about the obvious, suffice to say that Tulsi Gabbard said it for everyone in this tweet.

She’s right of course, but not much will change. The pandemic of mental illness that is modern day progressivism is hard to correct. People have been demoralized for decades, you can’t fix this overnight.

Heavy man

It was steenkin’ hot on the weekend, and it’s not letting up this week. Tomorrow I have a band rehearsal and it will be 97 degrees outside.

I was watching something on the BBC this morning called TRNSMT. It’s Scotland’s biggest music festival which is held over three days in Glasgow. On the heels of Glastonbury, I guess it’s the next place that global itinerant music lovers head to after that. These festivals are becoming bigger and bigger. Glastonbury seemed enormous. I honestly don’t know how people can stand to be in such huge crowds. Thank God the Covid’s gone. Imagine having to put up with the mask shit. What am I talking about? They would have cancelled it again.

So the TRNSMT (Scots are frugal, so they saved on extra letters) festival featured a whole lot of bands, most of which I’ve never heard of, but because the news was wall to wall assassination attempt, I had to watch something else to get away from it. The first act I saw was something called CMAT. I’m not going to mince words here… a fat chick dressed in a black corset wearing red hose. My eyes….. Wikipedia tells us Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson (born 23 February 1996), known professionally as CMAT, is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. Her debut studio album, If My Wife New I’d Be Dead, was released in February 2022 and entered the Irish Albums Chart at number one.

Psychedelic Porn Crumpets……trying too hard

I couldn’t find a picture of what I saw, but I’m fairly certain that’s who it was. I didn’t like it at all. There was another band calling themselves the Psychedelic Porn Crumpets. It was a bunch of dudes playing well, …..straight up rock and roll. The singer looked like clown, his hair was hanging over his face obscuring it completely. They were ok, but nothing new was really happening there. I watched a couple more acts, but I forget the names. What impressed was that a lot of this stuff was very ‘trad’. ie, Rock music seems to be making a comeback. I saw plenty of Fender amps and guitars, and not a lot of corporate Coldplay style faggotry that Glastonbury is currently running with.

This is what I’m talking about.

Maybe I’ll watch some more tomorrow and deliver my reviews about it. We’re not getting away from Trump in the news for at least another week, so it will be slim pickins’ on TV if you just like to have it on while you’re drinking your morning beverage. Scotland as a nation appears to be almost completely perma-cucked, but perhaps out of the despair and demoralization some new music will surface.

You never know, my band may become relevant now. We’re doing exactly what the kids are into now, which is what we have been doing for the last 30 or more years in the first fucking place.

Last year’s Dead Pony were on this year as well.
