the madness continues. The weekend was torrid. There was quite a large thunderstorm yesterday as I was driving through Connecticut. All of a sudden half the people on the road seemed to have lost the ability to operate motor vehicle. On went the hazard lights. Oh no, nobody will be able to see me now, even though they clearly could. It was bucketing down, but it wasn’t a complete blackout. These are no doubt, the same people who willingly got vaccinated against a flu with a 99% survival rate, and nagged everyone to wear face diapers which also didn’t work. Nothing will change. The world will be full of idiots for all eternity. You have to come to terms with it.

Speaking of diapers. They’re all the rage in fashion now.
Today is pretty windy, but it’s not 90 deg any more. The weather monkeys can stop screeching about climate change for five seconds. Do these people have mass amnesia or something? It gets hot in summer, for fucks sake. “Not this time. It’s far worse!!!!.” Bull fucking shit. I remember quite a few years ago a heatwave where all the bodegas in Jersey lost power, and had the throw out all their spoiled food because the freezers stopped working. That’s forgotten now. Collective amnesia is vital to the furtherance of the climate change religion. It’s all so tiresome.

Yeah yeah yeah, no.
This morning I’m waiting for the dude who is installing new windows in the front of the Fortress. The original ones are starting to fall apart and look crappy. These replacements will be thermally better and have greater soundproofing qualities. Since I’ve started rehearsing with the band every week now, I’d rather not blast the hell out of the people walking past. I also don’t need the sound of trucks, buses, jets and loud talking interfering with my guitar playing either. I think my amp’s speakers are finally broken in. I bought the thing used, but I doubt it was played much before I got it. It sounds really nice now.
Fender Twins are LOUD. I have mine slightly above 2 and it’s fucking deafening beyond that. It’s also great for the hearing. Our drummer, Ricky, formerly played in a heavy metal band for a while, so he can get loud as well. Jon, the bass player has to keep turning up his volume. That’s Rock and Roll baby. Nobody cares anyway. The worst thing about having these windows installed is moving all the amps, wires and cables out of the way. People not familiar with playing in a musical group with amplifiers and PAs have no idea how many fucking wires, boxes and cables are involved. It’s like shifting spaghetti, and they all get tangled up like a nest of snakes.

Wiring hell at Woodstock
Playing in a band is hard work before you even get on stage. You have to love wires and chaos. There’s no way this stuff is ever going to be neat and orderly. Like peace in the Middle East, it’s never gonna happen. On the weekend I watched a very interesting documentary someone had made about the French Revolution. It’s in two parts. Whether you agree with it or not, (and I don’t agree with all of it) Some of the things that were happening at the time seem very familiar today. I think it’s worth a look if you have an hour or two to spare. The use of illustrations from the time brings it to life in all of it’s horror.
