Sept 16. Tomorrow night is the Harvest moon which is the Full Moon nearest the autumnal equinox, which happens around middle to late September. Last night at about 1 o’clock in the morning the woods were filled with scary howling. It sounded like the intro to a Count Floyd Monster, Chiller Horror Theater. In fact it has been a spooky weekend altogether. On Saturday I went to an Ocean State store in New Hampshire to pick up a heater that I had ordered online. After I had put that in my car, I wandered around the store to see what else I could buy.
I found a putty knife and some caulking material. I have windows that need glazing. It’s so bad that the you could blow on the window and the glaze would just fall off. So I have these two things in my basket. I walk around a bit more and when I look in my shopping basket there is something called a water color pad sitting on top of the stuff that I had put in there. It was mystifying for sure. I hadn’t even been down the aisle where all the arts and crafts stuff was located, so how the fuck could it have gotten in there? This wasn’t a small item either. I would have noticed if someone had put in in there. The store was fairly deserted too. I can’t recall being close enough to someone who could put in in there without me noticing. Why would they anyway?

I put it back where I thought it had come from, and took my stuff to the checkout. I asked the lady there if the place was haunted. She was an unusual looking woman. She was probably about 40 something, maybe. Most of her teeth were missing and she had enormous breasts which seemed to take up the entire upper part of her torso. She was kind of cute actually. She gave me a funny look and said yes, the store was probably haunted. She said that one night the security cameras had caught a till moving on its own when no one was there. She also said that someone had seen a lady down the back section, whose appearance couldn’t be explained. She went on to say that her house was haunted too. Strange noises were always occurring and sometimes her name would be called out. I found this intriguing.
I told her that my house was haunted as well. I said it’s nothing to worry about as long as these entities are benign. She seemed to agree. I’ve never had something materialize like that though. I’ve had stuff disappear for years and then reappear in the same place years later. I’ve heard sounds and noises. The thing is, the store isn’t really that creepy and I didn’t notice any weird vibe when what appeared in my shopping basket, got there. I know there wasn’t anything in it when I grabbed it from the front of the store. The woman I spoke to was at the counter and saw me take it, so she knows it was empty.
No shoes, no body, no service.
I’d love to see the security footage if it exists. At some point that object just materialized without me even being aware of it. There is no other explanation. Halloween isn’t for a month and a half, but maybe the spooks are starting early this year. It was an interesting occurrence anyway. Next time I’m going to take some ghost hunting devices with me. Kids! Scary!
