Some people are apparently so dumb that the Age newspaper has taken it upon itself to explain things for them. They even have special “Explainer” reporters to do so. I was looking at the news yesterday and it was all so thoroughly boring that I had to once again turn to my local Melbourne newspaper the Age, for some real entertainment. Today there were multiple Trump stories and I screen grabbed some of them. The first one at the top I haven’t read because most of these the Age content is behind a paywall. I can guess that it will be anti Trump because every single thing the Age publishes is like that. It’s beyond funny at this point. It’s tragic.
This is also why I like to listen to NPR. The insane rhetoric cracks me up every time. The Age however, is ground zero for this phenomenon. Looking at the headline below, I can’t imagine how the author came up with this idea. I really should get a subscription so I can fully read this, but I’ll quote the opening paragraph for you. “In real time, we are watching the United States of America slide further into authoritarianism. As the administration’s response to protests in Los Angeles escalates, President Donald Trump’s handling of the issue must be understood in the context of his broader assault on democracy and the rule of law.”

The author of this verifiable excrement, Doctor Emma Shortis, must have been asleep between 2019 and 2024. That’s when the real assault on “Democracy” and the rule of law happened. Every sentient being should understand this, but this is the Age, loony central.
What’s more, the entire “immigration debate” is focused on people who are here illegally. Unless you believe in open borders, no rules and anarchy, you would understand that as well.
Doctor Shortis’ profile says she is “senior researcher in the International and Security Affairs Program (whatever that is) at The Australia Institute, and the author of Our Exceptional Friend: Australia’s Fatal Alliance with the United States.” Well, she’s perfectly unbiased, ain’t she? After looking at what she had written, I decided to probe deeper into the identity and motivation behind this patent foolishness . After all, it’s inflammatory stuff so maybe people need to know who is saying this and why?
Dr Emm gave some cockamamie lecture recently about how the US was failing and how Australia was going to stop the (non existent) climate change. It’s the same old song with these people. Nobody needs any of this garbage.
It all started to make sense quickly. The good Doctor works for a think tank called the Australia Institute. Their website is currently “under maintenance” but this is what Wikipedia says about it, “The Australia Institute is an Australian public policy think tank based in Canberra, with offices also in Hobart and Adelaide. Since its launch in 1994, it has carried out research on a broad range of economic, social, and environmental issues.

The Australia Institute states that it takes a bipartisan approach to research, but it has been described as “progressive” or “left-leaning”. furthermore… “The Australia Institute has produced research in the climate and energy space since 1994. In 2017, The Australia Institute took over the work of the Climate Institute, including continuing the Climate of the Nation report, the longest continuous survey of community attitudes to climate change in Australia. (it) also publishes the National Energy Emissions Audit.”

So there it is, Dr Emma is another vapid, ignorant, stupid, worthless anti-American “climate change” hack. “The Australia Institute is active in promoting global warming mitigation measures and has been critical of the Australian federal government’s perceived lack of action on climate change.

If you do an internet search of this woman you will find many examples of her work. She is thoroughly anti American to the point of derangement I would say. More specifically she absolutely hates Donald Trump evidenced in what she produces. This isn’t journalism, it isn’t research, it’s activism and I would go so far as to say hate speech. Just because she’s a woman doesn’t let her off the hook. Still, the Age publishes these hysterical lies, vitriol and more, with what would seem to be utter contempt for its readers. North Korea has nothing on these people. What’s the point of it all? That’s the puzzling thing.
