for Sir Keir Starmer. The latetsr elections in the UK have severely rattled the sitting Labour Party and now they’re all in disarray. The interesting thing about all of this is that one of the key people calling for Starmer’s resignation is a woman who was born in Victoria. It would be ironic if UK’s next prime minister was a woman from Melbourne, but I doubt it will happen. Labour will be swept away in the next general election and maybe Nigel Farage will be the next PM. It could happen.
It don’t bother me one way or the other, I’ve been constructing a pond at the side of the house. On Friday somebody came to “scout” the place. One of the big film companies are making a TV series based in the Hudson Valley. I’ve told you before that this street sometimes resembles a movie production set. All day long there are trucks lined up and down the street, and nobody is allowed to park here for days.
They filmed a movie at the house next door, and now someone has gotten it into their head that this place might be a good location for the new series. I doubt it’s going to happen. If they were making a horror film, then yes. This place is way too funky for some show where somewhat normal people live.
I went to the big box supermarket today. They had run out out dates. This was almost a major catastrophe. It’s the only place as far as I know that sells these particular Medjool dates. They are grown in California and I’ve been out to the date farms there. I may have to drive out there again to get some if they don’t show up in the store soon.
I’m going to try and post some video from last week. I have a bunch of songs that I’ve edited together as it happened. It’s a band rehearsal but it may as well be a live show, there’s not much difference. Again I’m not getting anywhere near the amount of views on Youtube that I used to. Whatever AI algorithm Youtube is using now is definitely not pushing people in my direction. I went from about 100 views per video a year ago and now I’m lucky to get 20. I’m not doing anything different, and I still have the same amount of subscribers.
The other thing that could be happening is that most people aren’t interested in that kind of music anymore. It’s entirely possible. The girl who came to take pictures of my house spotted the Harry Dean Stanton poster on my wall and said she didn’t know who he was. She’d never heard of the movie Paris, Texas either. This is someone who works in the film and TV industry.
