yesterday when Fulton County DA Fani Willis and her former boyfriend took the stand to explain their relationship to the court. Fani was in a romantic relationship with the person that she appointed to prosecute the Donald Trump “election interference” trial. Needless to say it was greatly entertaining to watch these two squirm as they were prodded by Trump’s lawyers for information on who had paid for all the vacations they had taken together, and where the money had come from. Nathan Wade, the boyfriend/prosecutor said that he had booked it, but Fani had reimbursed him in cash. Fani said that she always keeps cash, therefore she had no receipts for any of the transactions. She seemed very angry that she even had to answer these questions, and her whole demeanor wasn’t really helpful to her case. The second part of her testimony begins today. Of course the media said she will take the stand at 9 am, and it’s 10:15 as I’m writing this. No sign of anything happening in the courtroom yet. This is the Deep South after all.

I just read that many of the people who bought the new Apple googles are returning them due to issues with comfort. I totally didn’t see that coming….not. They never learn though. If humans were meant to walk around with VR sets attached to their faces, we would have been born with them. Three grand to experience headaches and motion sickness doesn’t sound like a good deal to me.

“It’s just too expensive and unwieldy to even try to get used to the constant headaches and eye strain I was experiencing. I’ll be back for the next one.” said one fan. That they “will be back for the next one”, means we’re not going to be rid of it probably ever. Elon Musk would argue, “just get a chip in your head”. If there’s enough incentive, that will happen, I have no doubt. People just need to be scared enough to think that they’ll die without it. Worked in the fake pandemic, so why not in this case?

Still nothing going on in the courtroom. The stenographer, who was the only one visibly there at 9 am, is looking at her phone. The people in the public gallery were an interesting bunch. One dude in the front row looked like Leon Russel without the beard. What’s the deal with him? He may be a journalist. One thing I’ve noticed is that they drink a lot of water there. Nathan Wade went through at least four bottles of water in his testimony yesterday. The court steno is into her second one and the hearing hasn’t even started. It’s blowing a fucking gale this morning. I don’t think I want to go out in it. The internet just fell over for some reason. It’s not surprising given the wind that’s blowing. It’s not the kind of blowing that I’m fond of. Update… Fani Willis has decided not to appear, but her father is now on the stand. He’s talking about getting a reverse mortgage on his house. Now they’re asking him about cash. “It’s a black thing. You always keep cash.” It all makes sense now.
