will win the next election if the establishment don’t do a Trump on Nigel Farage. On the BBC this morning they were saying that Farage had lost his security detail. We all know what happens when the establishment is threatened. Nige had better keep his head on a swivel. I fully expect as time goes on he will be accused on some made up corruption charges or some bird (or bloke) will appear to accuse him of sexual assault. This is how the left plays the game. Dirty and low. They’re getting worried, and so they should be. Not that I watched a lot of it, but the Labour Party conference that just finished, featured some of the most tone deaf messages and promises from a sitting political party that you could imagine.

The highlight was when Starmer did a Hillary and accused Reform voters of being racist. Good one. That went over like a lead balloon. Not to be outdone, the Defence minister, Lammy said that Farage was “flirting with Hitler youth”.

These comments which centred on a claim that as a schoolboy in the late 1970s and early 1980s he and others marched through a village “shouting Hitler Youth songs”. He has since apologized after the damage was done of course. Starmer last week ” described Reform UK’s policy of scrapping indefinite leave to remain as “racist” and “immoral”.” Slinging mud, that’s what they do. The problem is that it sometimes comes back at you.

Yesterday I watched Trump give a speech to some members of the military. He sounded tired, but he looked ok. Trump probably needs a vacation, but probably has never taken one, nor ever will. Guys like that just work, work, work. I couldn’t do it. Trump told them that promotion will be based on merit from now on. No more DEI.
The Secretary of War, Pete Hegseth went further saying, “No more identity months, DEI offices, dudes in dresses,” he told the audience. “No more climate change worship, no more division, distraction or gender delusions, no more debris.” “We’re done with that shit.” he said, although the lugen press left that last part out. The second one, from the Atlantic plumbs new depths of anti Trump syndrome, while forgetting completely the mental state of Joe Biden.

It’s great to see sanity returning to this part of the world again. Every day I see at least one person I know posting anti-Trump stuff on places like Instagram. That’s fine, but it doesn’t make you any friends. Posting political stuff on social media is always dodgy, which is why I don’t do it any more. Why give people the opportunity to dislike you over politics? Most of the people I play music with probably hate Trump, but I rarely talk politics with them. I like them as people, not as political entities.

All my political stuff ends up here, and you have to go out of your way to find it. I don’t even post links to these journals on social media. I’d rather people read it who agree with me. I’m not on a crusade. There isn’t much of a differing of opinion in the music business. Most musicians are left leaning, and the right leaning ones are possibly even more annoying. KId Rock and Ted Nugent for example. I’d rather listen to Neil Young than Ted Nugent any day, so there’s that.
In the end it’s not about politics, it’s about common sense, and common sense isn’t very common these days.
