In a breathtaking turnabout, Morning Joe is now vehemently supporting Joe Biden for president. Last week Biden was toast, but now by some miracle he has arisen like Lazarus from the dead. I have no idea what prompted this, but it appears the Morning Joe was pissed off that his show was shitcanned on Monday because the network feared they would say something crazy and upset people. I’ve got news for them, they say crazy shit every day, and that’s why I watch it. It’s must see TV for me.
This morning’s case for Biden hinges around explaining that his gaffes are just the result of a speech impediment he has. “He’s had it forever” said Scarborough. He lost his first presidential bid because of it.” If you take away the gas lighting, Joe lost the 2020 election as well. He’s just not as popular as Morning Joe and co would like everyone to believe. The amount of cope on this show is at historic proportions. Schadenfreude is a terrible thing I know, but it’s a pleasure to watch the mental contortions going on there every day.
I also watched a bit of the news down on Planet Australia this morning. They’ve discovered that the building workers union the CFMEU is being run by corrupt officials. CFMEU secretary for Queensland and the Northern Territory Michael Ravbar said “buffoon breakfast show hosts and talkback radio shock jocks” pressured the PM into having “panicked and soiled himself” over some unproven allegations. The CFMEU is here to stay.” This is a big deal because the Labor party traditionally calls on union members to support them. There seems to be fight brewing. Panicked and soiled himself? Oh dear.

The other major story on Planet Aus, is that “Twiggy” Forrest’s green empire looks like it may be starting to fall apart. “Forrest’s mining company announced it is slashing 700 jobs while affirming its “resolute” commitment to its green technology vision. Some analysts have said the job losses showed the mining giant was slowing its push into green hydrogen or abandoning its ambitions altogether.” This is the guy who wants to harvest energy using hydrogen and giant solar farm in the northern part of the country. He was planning to sell ‘renewable’ electricity to Singapore via a gigantic underground extension cord plugged in on the Aussie side. Sounds legit. He’s since lost control of that project to Mike Cannon-Brookes
In March 2022, Cannon-Brookes (through Grok Ventures) and billionaire Andrew Forrest invested in the Sun Cable project, to build a solar and battery farm 12,000 hectares (120 km2) in size at Powell Creek, Northern Territory, and a power-cable to link it to Singapore (via Indonesia) leaving Australia at Murrumujuk beach. In January 2023, Sun Cable went into administration owing to disagreements between Cannon-Brookes and Forrest, and in May 2023, Grok Ventures outbid Forrest and others to buy the liquidated company.

The Twigster hasn’t disclosed where these cuts are occurring which is troubling some in the financial world. The more Forrester keeps talking about net zero, the less I would be inclined to believe that his plans are going to work out. In my opinion the Green Industry is an industry full of grifters and I would be not surprised if any of these grand plans ever came to fruition. There’s a lot of government money involved, I’m fairly certain therefore, if it’s pissed up against the wall in a virtue signaling exercise, then mission accomplished.

Just before I wind this up today, celebrity comedian/musician/actor Jack Black has pulled the plug on his Tenacious D tour which caused an uproar among some people when his co-performer made a tasteless remark about the Trump assassination attempt during one of their shows in Sydney. Laughter was heard from the audience, but one politician called for their deportation. I’ve said many times that Australians think they know everything about politics in the US. I used to be the same way.
I absolutely get why they are so ignorant about everything. They all hate Trump because they ‘know” he’s a bad person. The ABC, the national broadcaster has been feeding them these lies ever since Trump walked down the golden elevator in 2016. “Trump is bad, Joe Biden won the election, climate change (and Trump) is an existential threat to humanity etc etc”. You can’t argue with people who have been systematically brainwashed and demoralized all their lives. It’s disappointing but it’s true.
