It's Wednesday.

I've just filled up my car with gas. It cost me $62. I'd like to take a moment to to thank Trump and his Iran war for that. I guess everyone has their achilles heel. Now we know what Trump's is, but we kind of knew it before. He keeps saying Iran can't have a nuclear weapon. North Korea has a nuclear weapon, as does Pakistan, India, Russia, China, you name it. 

It's all so fucking boring indeed. I've completely given upon politics at this point, as have many people I have no doubt. Let's talk about nice things instead. I think I'm going to get a new keyboard amp today if it sounds any good. I have to go to the music store to check some out first. I have two keyboards that I play at the moment. One is a software synth and the other is a Yamaha digital keyboard which I've had for a while. It stopped making sound about a year ago but now I've brought it back from the dead. The best thing about it is the hammer action which mimics a real piano. I also have a six foot grand in the living room, but I'm not taking that anywhere.

So the two keyboards that I use have two separate amps they go through. The piano goes through an ancient Fender Rumble bass amp and the other synth goes through another bass amp. This new keyboard amp that I want to buy can take both keyboards because it has two inputs. That allows me to get rid of one amp, so that's cool. If you've been writing, recording and playing music as long as I have you'll probably have a collection of gear, most of which you don't use. I have about 15 guitars, and about six amps that I don't play. I should get rid of them but I don't have the motivation. I have gotten rid of stuff in the past. I usually give it to someone. I've run out of people to give it to at the moment. 

It would be great to have maybe one of each thing. One guitar, one amp and one keyboard, but that's not the case. If I had to keep anything it would probably be my drum kit which I pieced together from random items. Patrick calls it the circus kit, and it's a bit like that. It sounds great though, and I still like playing drums. That's how I write songs. I start with a drum track. I put it in the editing software and then play various instruments over it until something sounds right . Often times nothing sounds right. I have a lot of recorded drum tracks. One day I might throw some keyboards or guitar on one of these orphans and it will sound great. Then I will have the makings of a song. 

The words come absolutely last in this equation. Sometimes I even make them up on the spot.
