with Billy Ray Cyrus? The New York Post is reporting today that, “Billy Ray Cyrus’ son, Trace Cyrus, has issued a dramatic plea to his famous father just days after his disastrous performance at one of President Trump’s inaugural balls.

What’s up with the knee scarves?
Trace Cyrus said he “barely” recognized his father when he took the stage in Washington, DC, on Monday — hours after Trump, 78, was sworn in as the 47th president.” Billy’s big hit Achy Breakey Heart was the first single ever to achieve triple platinum status in Australia. It was also the best-selling single in the same country in 1992. Due to the song’s music video, the line dance rose in popularity.

Billy Ray and Firerose
I remember back when I lived there Billy Ray was everywhere, you couldn’t blow your nose with hearing Achy Breaky Heart. It was omnipresent. I don’t know if he toured down there, it doesn’t matter anyway. I haven’t been able to find out exactly what’s wrong with Billy Ray, if anything at all, but he does look like a hobo at the moment. Billy Ray’s current girlfriend is a Aussie chick from Sydney who went to the Newtown School for the Performing Arts. She’s now a US citizen.

Be the hobo you wanna be
Most of Trump’s musical choices aren’t my cup of tea, but I will say I did see the Village People at San Francisco’s Black and White ball once. “The ball is the Bay Area’s largest black-tie street party and a tradition since 1956 – a night for high society and just plain folks to mingle in gowns and tuxedos around Civic Center Plaza to listen to music.” Gavin Newsom was the mayor at the the time and he addressed the party goers just before it kicked off. I booed him of course and was immediately attacked by some wretched progressive woman in the crowd who struck me with her walking stick. Violence is all these people understand, after all.

The boys as we knew them…at the time I had no idea this was a gay thing. That’s how little exposure to that culture there was Downunder in the 70’s.
Those Village People were different to the original Village People as well. I wonder where the first Village People are today? In fact the only original member is Victor Willis who performs either as a policeman or naval officer. He also co wrote their iconic hits, Macho Man, YMCA, In the Navy and Go West. The group was originally formed in 1977 by French producers Jacques Morali and Henri Belolo and lead singer Victor Willis. Willis was against Trump using his music in the middle of 2020 but In January 2025, it was announced that Willis and the Village People would be performing at the Turning Point USA inaugural ball in celebration of Trump’s second inauguration.
Go West – my favorite VP song. Footscray people will get it. Could this be any gayer?
