has endorsed Kamala Harris. Let’s have a round of applause for Willie. He wants the war in Ukraine to continue and he wants the Middle Eastern conflict to blow up into World War Three. What a guy!
If there was ever an advertisement for the negative affects of pot smoking, Willie Nelson embodies it. Then again Willie has always been a lefty. He endorsed Beto some time back. Who can forget this frightening image? I wish I could.

As it happens, Willie has a new album out. I don’t care. He’s 91, but hasn’t learned a fucking thing. Why do people worship somebody just because they got really old? Big fucking deal. Maybe by the time he gets to 100, he might figure out which side he should be on. In my opinion he’s not the side of the American people right now. Willie may have been high when they stole the election in 2020, and missed the entire thing, so perhaps we can forgive him. He’s been a solid Progressive for a while. The LA artist Sabo made a great poster of Willie a while back.

You may ask why am I being so hard on an old man? Willie never hurt anyone. He’s all about helping the farmers, isn’t he? Farm Aid started in 1985. Enlisting the help of music artists Neil Young and John Mellencamp, along with Illinois governor Jim Thompson, a Republican, Nelson set about organizing what would the first Farm Aid benefit concert held September 22, 1985 in Champaign, Illinois. They’ve raised a lot of money since then, there’s no denying it.

More of Sabo’s work.
The idea of Farm Aid was inspired by Bob Dylan. Wikipedia tells us. “On July 13, 1985, before performing “When The Ship Comes In” with Keith Richards and Ron Wood at the Live Aid benefit concert for the 1983–1985 Ethiopian famine, Bob Dylan remarked about family farmers within the United States in danger of losing their farms through mortgage debt, saying to the worldwide audience exceeding one billion people, “I hope that some of the money … maybe they can just take a little bit of it, maybe … one or two million, maybe … and use it, say, to pay the mortgages on some of the farms and, the farmers here, owe to the banks.”

Bob seems nonplussed.
You don’t (or haven’t yet) seen Bob Dylan endorsing political candidates in this election cycle. Bob’s clearly smarter than Willie in that respect. Over at Reddit, by no means a reliable source for anything, they’re saying that Dylan was a fan of Obama. Dylan was asked about it. “What do I think of him? I like him. But you’re asking the wrong person.
You know who you should be asking that to? You should ask his wife what she thinks of him. She’s the only one that really matters.” Feeling pressed, Dylan continues: “Look, I only met him a few times. He loves music. He’s personable. He dresses good. What the f**k do you want me to say?” Doesn’t give us much of a political insight though. Obama did present Bob with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2012, so there is that. What’s he gonna do, say no, I don’t want it?
No Presidential Medal of Freedom for Willie though. He may have missed the boat.
Visit Sabo’s website, buy something. He’s a good guy.
